There are a lot of ways for residents to be involved in OHSU, including several committees with house officer participation. In order to help you identify who to reach out to to advocate for change, or select a committee to apply for during your residency, the IM Chiefs have collected a list of them here. Please email us with questions or suggestions.

Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC)
The Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) consists of GME leadership, program leadership, and resident/fellow representatives from ACGME accredited training programs at OHSU who meet monthly to make decisions on issues affecting GME and its policies. Examples of items discussed at GMEC meetings include editing policies surrounding evaluations/work hours/recruitment, reviewing program accreditation, and approval of program director appointments. The committee includes 12 residents/fellows (6 voting and 6 alternate members) to ensure house officer representation.
OHSU GME RESIDENT FELLOW FORUM (OARFF)
OARFF is a working group created to allow residents and fellows from OHSU’s ACGME accredited programs to collaborate and facilitate improvements in resident/fellow experiences and processes across the institution. We meet to brainstorm new and advance ongoing projects. Each project will have 1-2 champions leading the initiative. We hope you will consider joining our group to make your resident and fellow voices heard. Reach out if you're interested in representing your department as a formal member of OARFF or feel free to drop in to one of our monthly meetings to learn more!
